Izzy, let me explain a little more background about this "theory of
everything."
Einstein developed two theories of relativity. The first being the
special theory of relativity related to small objects like electrons and the
speed of light. The other being the General Theory was his effort to
relate the special theory to acceleration and gravity. Einstein always
worked toward a grand theory that would explain everything. He called it
his unified field theory. He never succeeded, but that legacy goes
on. Many upcoming scientists realize that if they can produce a theory
that can explain everything, it will put them above Einstein.
So taking this approach, some theologians attempt to explain everything
through theological theories of everything. I guess. Some think this
is possible through the idea of the incarnation. This is simply
an extension of the idea that Yeshua is the Logos and the Logos became
flesh. Seems like pretty basic stuff to me, but they keep saying that I
don't get it. :-)
I think a major part of the problem is found in considering holistic versus
reductionistic approaches. Both approaches are needed, but sometimes one
side thinks they don't need the other side. :-)
Peace be with you.
