Now revelation might initially appear irrational if it runs contrary to our
general system of understanding. However, if the revelation is true, it
must by necessity be logical. Otherwise, we would have to contend that God
Almighty is an irrational and illogical being.
The author, here, demonstrates the illogic he is trying to avoid. Whether or not God's participation in a particular revelation(s) is provable has nothing to do with the character of His being.
