Good Morning Bill & Izzy Thanks for the welcome back. It has been an interesting interlude to say the least. I was seated next to people who appeared to be from the Middle East on both long legs of the journey. Mother and daughter dress designers from the garment district in NY who were Jewish. A Lebanese Computer nerd living in Colorado with his lovely wife and 2yr old son on their way to visit family in Sydney; then coming back a Jewish family were across the aisle from me; husband, wife, and grown son who were touring the US for the first time and ultimately headed for Israel.
All of these people were so interesting. The mother from NY had a taped up devotional in Hebrew which she kept pulling out and reading in between ripping the pages out of Bridal Magazines (for ideas), they said their husband/father imported tea and cosmetics from the Mt. of Olives. They were obviously not Messianic but I was given the opportunity to share my testimony of grace with them. On the return trip after a long night 33,000 feet in the air the Jewish men in the family across from me put on prayer shawls and phylacteries; they also wound a leather strip around the middle finger of their left hand and down their arm and came back to their seats to read the scriptures in Hebrew making different gestures all the while and at the end when they disrobed and put book and phylacteries away they kissed them over and over which I found very sad. The husband told me about the benefits of kosher food, (which I must say it did look really good and plentiful). His ancestors were from Bagdhad, they moved to Mayalasia and then on to Sydney. The wife was an Indian Jewess and their oldest son was visiting the family of a girl he is courting in Brazil. So visiting with them was in a sense a real education. It's good to be back though - Judyt ---------- "Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer every man."
