(from outa the smoke:)..
giv
thes vss., ff., some thot..(whr th Ap Jn
perceives 'blessings' rootd in 'grace', measurd by the
measure: 'fulness', perhaps: almost too much
)
evidntly almost
too many 'blessings' have no source in
any worldly economy/s..they can't be manufacturd, hav nothin to do
with money or powr, are enjoyd evn by whom no wealth or powr is
enjoyd--and, mysteriously yet materially they are cut solely from the
othrworldly fabric of God's 'grace' in Christ
radically, in th
extndnd cntxt below, e.g., into Jn3 and beyond, the Ap Jn juxtaposes
politcl 'manufacturrs' (of 'blessg'), even those govrnd by Mosaic
regulation, as 'graceless' operations; the thoughtful thread he
carries throughout, passes on, is that th exclusive fount
of grace is the KoG...it blew Nicodemus away..
e.g.,
theologically, in Century 21, as rich as the C Ch is, the Pope
still can't control ( grant) (a) 'blessing' outside of th KoG, which is why
Cath theolgns pointdly but falsely equate the KoG to the
(Cath) Church
(ftr,
howevr,
in the NT, rel to the Ap John's commnts, the Church/es can not be the KoG
bec the KoG is 'abstract'; it's the dynamic reign of God of
which ecclesia/s are its 'custodian')
in sum
of these intro comments, a stab at the NT 'blessings' whch flow
purely in the domain of God's reign through His 'grace': they are
not documntd in any nation's budget..they are known cheifly by the poor and poor
in spirit in Christ himself..they are as 'logical' as He is:)

From the fullness of his grace we have all received one blessing
after another.
For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. (John 1) |
