This dualist/non-dualist reading of Paul serves to illustrate a point made on numerous occasions pertaining to John 16:13 and other similarly 'used' passages. Iff David is wrong on this point it does not mean that he doesn't apprehend the truth of who Jesus is but, it does reflect a flawed hermeneutic.
Perhaps the more important issue at hand has to do with not being willing to have one's 'way of seeing altered' or brought in line with the Biblical pattern of reality. Iff both 'dualism' and 'perfectionism', as seen by David are incorrectly so perceived then, it exemplifies that which 'the Spirit will not do.' Now, rather than engaging in 'ping pong theology' (serving up Scriptures back and forth), I'd just be interested to ask people (including David) if this point is made with sufficient clarity to grant it as a valid consideration. 1. A 'mature' believer can be wrong over an extended period of time (one's whole adult life) in their interpretation of Scripture on matters such as those cited above. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Slade Henson" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: December 21, 2004 18:03 Subject: RE: [TruthTalk] Flesh and Spirit > I am not saying I do not understand Romans 7 and 8, though I appreciate your > concern for my hindrance. > > slade, who loves Izzy > > P.S.
