Hey Lance.
I know you said you didn't want to use scripture, but this came to my mind.
1Cr 13:12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
One reason we have a problem with interpretation of Scripture is because we
see through a glass darkly. Some of our theology is based upon premises
that are flawed because of traditional or logical thinking and not
revelation from God. If this is true, than a man can go throughout his
whole life and have the wrong understanding concerning some theology. We
have a conscience which can be trained to pick up on truths. If we listen
to our trained conscience, then our wrong thinking about some aspects of
Christian doctrine can be adjusted.
Rom 9:1 I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing
me witness in the Holy Ghost,
I believe that God will reveal certain truths to us if we seek him about it.
I have learned that some truths are hard to understand if there is not a
foundation of other truths laid first. So, the answer doesn't come over
night.
