I wasn't acting the part of PI. But cannot look at all the posts right now. I did notice people giving their stories in another thread. I'm interested, but was in court defending another family yesterday, and today have too much on my mind. I'll get back later...

Sorry Kay,
Are you interested in my personal life (which I've already discussed on the list) or are you using this to
confront me about our own tradition?  If the latter is true then I can say that we had family around and
I did enjoy spending time with three of our four children and our 2yr old grandson who is a joy... although
it grieves me to see the next generation replicating the same mistakes we made ... generational blindness I
guess and we ignorantly trained them in it. I'm not into Christmas trees or traditional Christmas either for
that matter and I haven't put a tree up in years - but I do participate with the family because it is important
to them and we can't always have things our way.... Loving them and trusting the Lord to open their eyes
is more important right now.  judyt

Interesting.
Did you have a Merry Christmas, Judy?? Family and friends celebrating with you? Were you able to spend time with your granddaughter? What colors did you have on Christmas tree?

jt: Yes reality is a nuisance for those who are in 'denial' ie those who refuse to confront the truth for their own lives - We can live in the past, in fact History and tradition are an escape but one that
will not ever lead a believer into godliness and/or holiness. in fact, Jesus Himself says that tradition can make God's Word of no effect in the lives of people (Matt 15:6, Mark 7:13); Paul warns about being spoiled by philosophy and vain deceit after the traditions of men (Co. 2:8) and the apostle Peter spoke of 'vain conversation' received by tradition from the fathers (1 Peter 1:18) - So in light of all this it sounds to me like we embrace them at our own peril -   judyt
