allegory can be pulled from a passage in Genesis. However, allegories cannot
(or should not) be used to create doctrine, I think it can help prove a
point... and a weak proof at that.
Avraham sent his servant, the head of his house to
find a suitable bride for his son who is to inherit all that is
his.
Let
me restate it again.
The Father sent the
Spirit, the head of his house to find a suitable bride (the Ekklesia) for
His Son Yeshua who is to inherit all that is His
Father's.
While I do not trust preachers who spiritualize the
meaning right out of Scripture, the fact remains that certain patterns
can be seen from the "allegorical understandings" of Scripture, and these
patterns can shed light on the more concrete interpretations of
passages.
