As you might have suspected,   I personally think this is great news.  Our "differing faiths" have a point of commonality  -   and that is the biblical message.
DAVEH:  Yet I think most folks want to emphasize the differences, rather than embrace the similarities.

This very thing has transpired between traditionally Christian _expression_ and the Seventh Day Adventist.   A number of my customers are Seventh Day.   All were eager to speak of their faith to me,   complete with literature and personal testimony.   When I responded,  sharing my belief that the gospel as defined in the Corinthian letter and limited to the wonderful notion of the Friendship of Christ and His Patient Fellowship with His Disciples,  well, we all discovered more than commonality.  Brotherhood was the blessing.

So,  let the dialogue begin.   Both sides will be hindered by the concern over compromise, a legitimate concern, incidentally.
DAVEH:   Hmmmm......To me, the Nicene Creed represents a compromise that leads to false doctrine.  Yet I am fascinated by those who believe the NC.  I don't feel threatened at all discussing it with others, yet I perceive others feel threatened by discussing it with me.  So it seems that often times when discussing it, the discussions quickly deteriorate to battles rather than meaningful exchanges.

Thanks for the postings.

John
