This is a Biblical principle here. The Holy One instructs us from the beginning not to mix. From mixing seeds in a field to mixing animals under the yoke, we as priests are to be able to determine what is and what is not holy. We are to BE holy [separate] for G-d is holy [separate]. We can begin to understand the more "esoteric" separation [i.e., be holy...] by separating the more mundane [i.e., do not sow two kinds of seeds]. A saved person yoked to a lost person is an unequal coupling.  They cannot be a team.  That is what the Bible is telling us.  Saved and lost do not pull together.  They pull in different directions, no matter how compatable they may seem..
