cannot get beyond what you wrote: But where the Gentile is not
necessarily rejecting Christ if he does not "believe" in him,
this was not so for the Jews. To the Jew to not believe in Jesus was
to not receive him, which was to reject him, which is to reject the right to
become a child of God. This looks like the gentile is saved
passively, while the Jew must be saved by actively accepting Christ. But none
of it matters anyway, as all of this is just human rationalizing around the
fact that we must ALL be born again, by our own free-will volition of believing
and repenting and following Christ (dying to self/sin in the process). Izzy |
