No, they were not swear words, but you are right about God allowing ad hominem statements. As I have said many times, it is not a sin to make an ad hominem statement. It is only for this list that we have adopted the rule. It is only a rule of etiquette so that we don't have to wade through posts of one list member trying to trump another list member. The distinction between babysitting and government is that babysitters are meant to supervise those not mature enough to take care of themselves. A babysitter primarily protects children from themselves, from their own irresponsibility. Government, on the other hand, is meant to insure the rights of others when they are infringed upon by others. Bill Taylor left this list and wrote me privately that something needed to be done about the personal attacks. I agree. I'm doing something about it.
