DAVEH: The LDS definition for being a God does not necessarily require a body, though it is an ultimate goal to have one.
See http://scriptures.lds.org/dc/132 Verse
"THEN shall they be gods"
Context is (see heading for 132) QOUTE: "everlasting covenant, including the eternity of the marriage covenant, as also PLURALITY of wives."
if this god has no body, how then do they Propagate "SEEDS forever"?
Verse 22 says the Father has flesh & bone NOT SO the Holy Spirit who is a personage of spirit,
Yet the Lectures on Faith were published in the forepart of the STANDARD WORK - Doctrine and Covenants in all editions from 1835 until 1921 It says the Father is a "personage of spirit"
WHICH IS IT?
Lectures on the Faith V :2 The Father being "a personage of spirit" The son, "a personage of tabernacle" the holy spirit is the mind of god
Haven't we had this discussion before?
BEEN WAITING for over a year now for Blaines answer, maybe you could help him?
Posted Dec 29 2003
If God the father has a BODY;
Could you answer this Blaine?
How did he get that body?
How does his body fill heaven & earth? Jer 23:24, 1 Kings 8:27
How does he hear all the prayers of the whole world?
Why is this body, invisible? col 1:15?
How can Jesus be with all of us, at once?
How could Jesus be on Earth and at the same time in Heaven? Jn 3:13
How many personages are there?
FILL IN THE BLANKS:
The father is a personage of __________
The son is a personage of ___________
The Holy Spirit is a personage of ____________
Lest you complain about using "Lectures on the Faith"
Joseph Smith - "The first part of the book will be found to contain a series of Lectures as delivered before a Theological class in this place, and in consequence of their embracing the important doctrine of salvation, we have arranged then into the following work.
"... The church viewing this subject to be of importance, appointed, through their servants and delegates the High Council, your servants to select and compile this work." Doctrine and Covenants, p. iii (1835 ed.)

Jesus was God before he became mortal, died and became resurrected.Just got back in townRight On I do not believe in the Mormon Jesus Or the Mormon Holy Spirit or the Mormon Father.FOR REVIEW: Things that are diffeWent are not the same! All gods must have a Physical BODY
So....back to the question, Kevin. Let me clarify the question a bit........Do you believe Jesus currently has a physical body of flesh and bones?
DAVEH: The LDS definition for being a God does not necessarily require a body, though it is an ultimate goal to have one.else how could he procreate on their personal planet, right? Please, I have been wondering for 20 years How did the Mormon Holy Spirit become a god without one?
Dave Hansen <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:DAVEH: That pretty well sums up the point you (or perhaps it was Perry) was making how Jesus is perceived by the LDS as contrasted to the Protestant Jesus. So let me ask you, Kevin....do you believe God has no body parts, and passions ?
Kevin Deegan wrote:Bernard P. Brockbank First Quorum of the Seventy "It is true that many of the Christian churches worship a different Jesus Christ than is worshipped by the Mormons or The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. For example from the Church of England's Articles of Religion, article one, I quote: 'There is but one living God, everlasting, without body, parts, or passions.' We cannot obtain salvation and eternal life by worshipping fake Christs. The belief that God has no body parts, and passions is not a doctrine of Jesus Christ or a doctrine of the holy scriptures but is a doctrine of men, and to worship such a God is in vain" ("The Living Christ," Ensign, May, 1977, pp. 267).
