Thank you for letting me know Slade, I must confess to not giving a lot of attention to the Pharisees but I
do know they weren't all bad - you've probably learned more about the good ones than me.  judyt

A big problem with this analogy and street preaching is that "sheep" are already in the fold so they "know"
the voice of the Shepherd - even John the Baptist was preaching to God's Covenant people.
 
I have my own issues with the methods of some Street Preachers (not all) because I don't like "throwing yourself down from the pinnacle of the temple" type antics.  However, they are doing something not many of us would want to do
and they are exposing ppl who would never be confronted in their own circles to the name of Jesus - Paul said that even if someone is out there for a wrong motive we should be thankful for that, so I now bless them in Jesus name.  jt
