DAVEH: So Perry, am I to understand from your below comments, that as long as I remain LDS and a TTer, you will not be willing to discuss theology without contention?
If my speaking the truth causes contention, then I guess that is the way it is meant to be.
I've heard it said that LDS folks are cliquish, and don't mix well with other Christians. Have you ever wondered why? And....do you think LDS folks should mix with other Christians, or would you prefer they stay segregated? Just curious, Perry....
Sure. They are taught that all other religions are an abomination to god, and so I would guess they do not want to associate with them. They probably also do not like to hang out with people that knows of the non-Chstiaitan nature of the lDS. Warm fuzzies attract, but the truth repels.
As far as mixing v. segregating, I don't really care one way or the other. I mix with Mormons, especially since my mother-in-law is LDS, and my youngest son has several friends that are LDS. He is a believer and has been taught the truth about LDS beliefs, and I have no problem with him being friends with LDS kids as long as he knows the truth. But, I do not consider LDS to be Christian brothers, and would not worship with them.
