jt: Then you obviously have not understood anything Linda, David, or I have said so far Lance which is not all that surprising.  The one thing all three of us have in common and do agree on wholeheartedly is the authority of God's Word whereas I seriously doubt that this man has read it and even if he has tried to read it he doesn't not understand and/or is not a believer. So what could you find in his writings that sounds like Linda, David, or myself?  IMO he is more like you, Jonathan, Bill, and JD. because he does not accept mankind's fall. For eg..

He says "Jewish & Christian morality and pagan morality have a common source...
God says "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways..." [Isaiah 55:9]

He says that he comes down on the side of those who see morality as a human characteristic common to many cultures....

God says: "For from WITHIN out of the HEART of men proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness.  All these evil things come from WITHIN and DEFILE the man." [Mark 7:21,22]

And... "Love not the world neither the things that are in the world; if any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, IS NOT OF THE FATHER but is of the world; and the world passeth away and the lust thereof but he that doeth the will of God abideth forever...[1 John 2:15,16]

What fascinates me? He sounds like you, Linda and, David.
jt: Lance this Jonathan man is a pagan himself so has no frame of reference by which to judge
what he professes to be the thesis of his book.  How does one evaluate something one is
ignorant about?  He obviously does not know God, nor does he understand what God is about.
What fascinates you about his writings?

I believe that I hear echoes of Kirsch in David, Linda & Judy.
