This is your problem = "it seems to me that
......."
Empathy has much more to do with somehow knowing of the feelings of despair,
hopelessness and discouragement in the lives of some; "what we
actually do" is something called BENEVOLENCE.
So my “problem” is that I have an opinion? no, it
is that you opinions so very often misses the point. Your comments on
"empathy" are a good example. A reference to a dictionary would
probably have avoided all this "discussion." Am I
being belittled for expressing an opinion? Is
there a difference between "belittling" and fair and honest criticism?(Is that
empathetic? -- empathy
is my knowing just how frustrated and angry you get, knowing that you are right
and not believing we are listening to you so you revert to the snid and
insulting. Empathy causes me to admit that I have contributed to
your anger and frustration. ) Do you think you are the
only one here who can “somehow know” about such feelings? Not at
all - I count all but four on this list as having this
ability. Is “feeling your pain”
enough? Isn’t doing something about it, in itself, the best
indication of one’s empathy? Absolutely -
so I must love and respect you without regard for your (David and Judy's as
well) continued snidness. That is my resolve. Will we
be rewarded in heaven for the wonderful feelings we had towards others, or for
the good we did to them? Can you do love without
experiencing love? You seem to think "yes." I
offer a resounding "no." Iz

JD, your Empathyometer is on the blink. I am not angry.
Or frustrated. Neither am I “snid” (which rhymes with lid.) (Nor
do I possess any “snidness”) J
(I think you are projecting here, counselor—I’m sure you are
familiar with the phenomenon?) Izzy PS I think you Loveometer is
screwed up, too. PPS You have been the source of endless hilarity today,
JD. LOL!!!
