gentlemen, your perspectives, represented below, are very clear--the opponent, perhaps adversarial, relationship is evident..

let's try this so DavidM can rest easier at least about our adulthoods (maturity? -- we'll see:)..

(ftr, for now, my/his adulthood, etc. is a different issue:)

..as i read you two, both comments, below, pertain to LDS culture--*a positive (defense): Blaine's excerpt;
a negative (so far non-ad hominem 'attack', which is fine): Kevin's critique*

would you both, in separate posts, in this same thread, for average reader consumption, also to persuade average readers to adopt your perspective, please post your best initial argument/s to justify your 'adversarial' thinking, as noted, *above*?

(feel free to adjust my *analysis* to suit your argumentative style/s or just take off from there if you like)

in sum, this request is v experimental, perhaps will enable many to enjoy your offensive and defensive expertise, i.e., the best you have to say about your perspectives, certainly avoiding a more potent 'moderatorial' intervention--this is it for now:)

if you'll agree to try it, lets see what happens (i'd say 'prayerfully', but that's what got this debate heated up:)

regardless, best regards:)

...btw, as a p.s., we can entertain any counter proposals from you or anyone else on the list on how to structure your 'debate'; other posters in other threads can feel free to read/interact with your stuff and/or continue their own perhaps less volatile 'debates'
