Being ready does not mean being quick to answer.  Jesus was hesitant to answer when he was brought on trial, yet he was always ready and able to answer.  The Scriptures teach us to be slow to speak.  This is God's way.  We should be ready to answer, but slow to speak.  Much of this concerns a methodology for setting the proper tone for our hearers, that what we say might be better understood by the right heart.  God is not after the intellectual.  He is after the one with faith and love.
