Subject: Re: [TruthTalk] Two
Questions
David I am am familiar with these they have problems. Maybe it is you
that should do some homework on this one.
You have the heart of a christian but sometimes a Pagan mind.
I get goosebumps from your Profound condescension!
You are a professor, correct?
I am curious, what are your degree's in?
Are you familiar with Macro vs Micro Evoution?
Has any experiment ever demonstrated MACRO Evolution?
Have they ever produced a DOGcat?
I have to admit they do a lot with FRUITflies :)
Transitions between fundamentally different structures are not seen in nature nor the
Lab!
Micro evolution proves what?
You know my hair is thinin a little, I am gonna get some Rogaine.
The fact that my scalp reacts to the external stimulation and grows hair
where there is none, does that qualify as Micro?
SOME REASONS
God calls Species "kind" Gen 1 Let the earth bring forth the living
creature after his kind
No species can be changed to another even with
the aid of an intelligent scientist.
The fossil record shows species in stasis and no intermediate forms only
fully developed (eg wings)
Micro can not begin, unless organisms already exist and are already
capable of reproducing after their kind
For the sake of argument for Macro to transpire, the Complex and
Voluminous Information required for a new DNA plan, where would it come
from?
The real question about Drosophila is what were they before they were
fruit flies?
Goldschmidt, Richard B., "Evolution, As Viewed by One
Geneticist," American Scientist, vol. 40 (January 1952), pp. 84-98, 135.:p.
94
"It is true that nobody thus far has produced a new
species or genus, etc., by macromutation. It
is equally true that nobody has produced even a species by the selection of
micromutations. In the best-known organisms, like
Drosophila, innumerable mutants are
known. If we were able to combine a thousand or more of such mutants in
a single individual, this still would have no resemblance whatsoever to any
type known as a species in nature."
Again I say, Evolution process has NEVER been demonstrated in a
lab.
What I mean is a REAL Evolution which would be Macro in order to
change species or add real function.
Genetic mutation that produces a observeable change
usually produces harmful change
It also does not increase order or information which would be required
for macro. It just rearranges & denatures the codes, it does not increase
order.
Ayala, Francisco J., "The Mechanisms of Evolution,"
Scientific American, vol 239 (Sept 78), pp 56-69
"A mutation can be considered an error in the replication of DNA prior to
its translation into protein."
Need improvement, why not skip they heavy Lead coat next time you get X
Rays?
Are you aware of the latest research in Mutant Ninja Turtles?
Radiation acts blindly.
Genetic Drift? I hardly think random transmission
of alleles imparts additional info.
Natural Selection? same set of problems
Raup, David M., "Conflicts Between Darwin and
Paleontology," Bulletin, Field Museum of Natural History, vol. 50 (January
1979), pp. 22-29:
p. 26 "It is certainly true that one would be
most unlikely to develop a functioning flying insect,
reptile, or bird by a chance collection of changes.
Some sort of guidance is necessary. And in these cases, of
course, natural selection is the only mechanism we know of to produce a
workable combination of characteristics."

I don't have time right now to do all your
homework for you. When I taught
introductory biology courses at the
University of South Florida, I usually
took some time to talk about
Richard Lewontin's work with Drosophila (fruit
fly). This can give you a
start. Evolutionary processes like natural
selection, genetic mutation,
and genetic drift can be demonstrated in the
laboratory. If you need
more help, let me know and I will try to give you
some specific studies
when I can make time.
Peace be with you.
David Miller.
