BOISE, Idaho (AP) _ A former Mormon stake president from Dillon, Montana, has been sentenced to prison for soliciting sex on the Internet. A stake is a kind of district.
A federal judge in Boise, Idaho, sentenced Clayton Hildreth to three years and five months. Fifty-two-year-old Hildreth was convicted of soliciting sex from someone he believed to be a teen-age girl; and for driving to Boise to meet her.
Officials say he used the screen name "Sexy Montana Gentleman" and started an Internet relationship with an undercover Boise police officer who was posing as a 14-year-old girl. Hildreth pleaded guilty in October to a charge of interstate travel with intent to have sex with a minor.
