Subject: [TruthTalk] to Perry and Kevin

BLAINE: AHA! You could not resist the temptation to get back into the fray of things, Perry! I am laughing! You wanted to just stand off and let Kevin handle/bungle it all, right?

You are easily amused, Blaine. When I have something to say, I say it, when I don't, I am silent.

Kevin has the virtue of always rising to the occasion, whether he has anything constructive to add or not. But welcome back, Perry,

Thanks for the welcome.

I was beginning to think you had lost your testimony of the "truths" of your false religion, made up of the traditions of men with an occasional scripture thrown in for credibility. Sort of like when Souuthern Baptist Bill Clinton tries to be photographed standing alongside George Bush Senior--for the sake of appearing credible!

Bad analogy, but...okay.

I have no pat answers for the many--too many--questions that you have posed.

I did not think so.

You need to narrow the subject matter down, and then I might have time to try to at least discuss intelligently what you seemingly want to know. I say "seemingly," because I do have serious doubts you really want to know the truth about Mormonism.

When I first became a Christian Iwas willing to accept the Mormons as a distant cousin of Christians...a little strange, but still Christians. When I married a woman whose mother is LDS, I began to investigate them more closely. As I began to study what they believe I began to see a very clear picture ...and that is that LDS believe in a different god and jesus than those of the Bible. That alone prevents them from being Christian, and classifies them as a cult. So, I posted the questions to you, even though I know you have no truthful asnswers, to demonstrate that fact to others on the list.

Just for example, why not focus on the bearded men facsimilies found in Meso-Amewrica? Neither you nor Kevin apparently want to discuss this highly meaningful archeological fact, one that obviously counters your own and Kevin"s contentions that there is not one shred of evidence supporting the BoM claims of a people of Hebrew/Caucasion ancestry having once resided in Meso-America.

I don't think I can improve upon DavidM's excellent points. Beadered images on stones provides no proof that Mormonism is true. I realize that there is no *archeological* evidence supporting the Book of Mormon...only stretches of the LDS imagination.

Actually, there are many such evidences. But so far, we can't seem to get up the nerve to discuss them, at least not objectively--all I get are put-downs and ridicule--which proves nothing.

You have provided several bits of "evidence" on TT in the past, and they *ALL* are based on "maybe" and "sort of" and "could mean". No hard evidence. Apply Occam's razor, and you have nothing.

As far as apologizing for the prophet's mistakes, I don't see the need. He did what he did, as a man as well as a prophet.

Maybe that is part of the problem...you see no need to acknowledge his shortcomings as a "prophet". That is called spiritual blindness.

Only Jesus Christ was perfect, remember? Seems you even said that once yourself. I do not focus on the faults of men, I try to focus on the positive aspects of Mormonism, which are too many to list, or begin listing.

I agree that there are many positives of Mormonism, but unfortunately, none of them can save you.

I believe in constructive criticism, but do not believe in being just plain negative. I do try to bring the positives up on TT, but I seldom get any discussion. Why not, Perry? Afraid to get into a real discussion? One that has at least a semblance of objectivity to it? Your hide-your-head-in-the-sand approach only protects you from the truth, Perry--and Kevin, too, if you read this.

Blaine, if you only knew the truth. We on this forum have presented you with mounds of evidence that Mormonism is a sham, and I am sure you have received terabytes of additional information from sources other than TT. And, all we have ever seen in return is lame reasoning, flimsy excuses, and out-and-out denial of the truth. Who truly has their collective head in the sand?

Have you ever read about the characteristics of a cult? Did they sound familiar? Have you ever read of the ceremonies that take place in Masonic temples, and compared them to Masonic Brother JS's ceremeonies in the LDS temples? Sound familiar? Yes, JS stole them. The LDs do secret handshakes, signs, penalties, tokens. Just like the Masons. Was the mormon god a Mason? Did Jesus have to give the secret handshake to get into heaven? The LDS are like Masons on steroids.

Finally, Blaine, I have to say that I admire you for your tenacity and your willingness to remain wholeheartedly committed to your religious system. But, it is sad that your commitment is being wasted on a false religion and blind cult. I know that you are so emotionally and socially tied into the cult that to acknowledge the truth and leave the LDS would result in several emotional and social consequences. But brave people who see the light do it all the time. I will pray for you.

Perry
