As Jimmy Durante used to say:"Everybody wants to
get into the act." And, so we should but, with more epistemological
humility.
"Anyone who is an interpreter of any text
interprets that text from some sort of ideational perspective.Everybody stands
somewhere. There's no one who can stand in a neutral objective point in
interpreting texts. To pretend so is simply a pernicious fiction." Richard B.
Hayes - Public Lecture - New Zealand - 2004)
We read the text of Scripture differently and
diversely. We read the texts of one another similarly. Other that saying:: 'you
are of your father, the devil', how are we to account for and insofar as is
possible, rectify this?
Among those gifted and discerning participants
dwelling hereon, might some suggest a way forward other that requesting that one
of the now thoroughly polarized camps simply 'take a walk' leaving the other to
live in harmony and agreement?
