DAVEH:  I realize you may be speaking of a personal experience where you expect to audible hear such.  Have you tried googling for such comments?

Speaking for myself, I took exception primarily with the idea that some on TruthTalk have this perspective.
DAVEH:   I find your thinking on this rather interesting....

Yes, it does seem rare to me.  I'm not sure I can ever remember a believer ever saying such a thing.
DAVEH:  Now that's an interesting change of terms.  I said Christian, and you said believer.  Regardless of how narrow you want to define/refine it, I suspect there are believers who are eager to send folks to an eternal physical torture.  In my parallel post, I used the example of where you (DavidM) might be the most eager TTer to execute a transgressor, which in effect is a speedy way to start somebody on there hellish journey, rather than let them languish in a state of mortality with the possible chance they will someday repent and turn to the Lord.
I have heard believers many times warning others that they will burn in hell if they do not repent, but I'm not sure if I have ever heard a believer tell somebody that they HOPE they burn in hell.
DAVEH:  I realize you may be speaking of a personal experience where you expect to audible hear such.  Have you tried googling for such comments?   There was one example I quoted (the URL) yesterday of a person who claimed to be Christian.  I've got no reason to think she was lying about that.

Have you considered that perhaps your perspective is a bit skewed, DavidM.  If you were someone who was not a Christian, and had an ax to grind.....maybe you would be more sensitive to hearing such comments from professed Christians.

Peace be with you.
David Miller.
