JD, I'm intrigued by your post about
waiting till the 24th. I guess the point would be the participation of
the believing community, since no marriage is an island. But surely God
is witness to the civil ceremony as well, and graciously honours it,
whether he is invoked or not. It is not possible to banish spiritual
realities by ignoring them. If people sleep with somebody else or split
up after such a ceremony, it is real adultery and real divorce, because
it was a real marriage. Would you agree?
