JD 1:18 is no more speaking of the "Bible" than it is speaking of flea powder.

You really are a BIBLE PERVERT!

Acts 20:30 Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.

B-I-B-L-E: Biblios in the greek or "book"

How are we to keep this command if we have not THE BOOK?  Isaiah Seek ye out of the book of the LORD, and read: no one of these shall fail, none shall want her mate: for my mouth it hath commanded, and his spirit it hath gathered them.

Ex 17:14 And the LORD said unto Moses, Write this for a memorial in a book
IN THIS BOOK, Which Book? DU 28 If thou wilt not observe to do all the words of this law that are written in this book, that thou mayest fear this glorious and fearful name, THE LORD THY GOD

Ps 40 Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me

Jer 30 Write thee all the words that I have spoken unto thee in a book.

REVIVAL IN ISRAEL WAS ALWAYS ACCOMPANIED BY DISCOVERY of & HONORING GODS WORD

2 Chron 34 Go, enquire of the LORD for me, and for them that are left in Israel and in Judah, concerning the words of the book that is found: for great is the wrath of the LORD that is poured out upon us, because our fathers have not kept the word of the LORD, to do after all that is written in this book.

EZra And they set the priests in their divisions, and the Levites in their courses, for the service of God, which is at Jerusalem; as it is written in the book of Moses.

Neh 8 So they read in the book in the law of God distinctly, and gave the sense, and caused them to understand the reading.

Esther And the decree of Esther confirmed these matters of Purim; and it was written in the book.

Nahum 1:1 The book of the vision of Nahum

Luke 3:4 As it is written in the book of the words of Esaias the prophet

Jesus read from the BOOK: Lu 4:20 And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him.

JD, you are possibly the most double minded man I have ever come across.  You need to choose who you

are going to serve ie: the doctrine of the "incarnation" which gives you the false assurance that "the whole world
has made it" or the "faith once delivered to the saints."

Judy  --  here you go again, reading into my words what you want me to be saying.   What is the value in that?   I, nor anyone I am aware of on this forum, have taught that "the whole world had made it."   You actually put that in quotations, Judy,  giving the false impresseion that I have actually made this specific statment. Are we being honest, here?   Quoting where there are no quotes?

You are on record defending the "incarnationist" perspective JD.  Do you now deny that you own this perspective?
The verbiage you have written below is just pitiful.

The verbage written below is a compliation of all that I have heard your side of the aisle say at one time or another.

And you treat it just like you do scripture ie: lump it all together and stir it around with all that milk, beer, and whatever else
is churning about in your mind and when it comes out it has taken on a life of it's own and it certainly nothing at all like
anything I've ever believed or have seen posted by Linda, Kevin, Terry, David, or even the Mormon boys for that matter..

You don't like it  because when it is put into a single and concise package of thought,  it   shows just how off base the Righteous Radicals really are.

It's the "concise package of thought" that gets me.  Hmmmm!  That's a good one JD.  Apparently you have not done your BSF homework this week, or possibly you are not in agreement with these notes in your heart.

It is tough keeping up with your subject changes  (third one in this paragraph.)

How could one who put together the mess of verbiage below complain about subject changes.  What is the subject JD?
Do you do it at all (the homework) JD?  Because you could not possibly embrace what they teach and what you profess ATST.

And  neither do you agree with all of their teachings.  So what is the big deal?

You obviously don't know "all of their teachings" and have rejected what they teach about God's Word - ie:
On Page3 of your Notes (James 1:21-23 - A Righteous Life)
"James describes the righteous life God desires as getting rid "of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent"  Our culture is characterized by moral filth. Contamination by the world through its entertainment, magazines, books, and even daily living is something we kow well.  The tool we have for keeping ourselves free from evil, separated unto God, and growing in grace is God's Word, the Bible.

We did James last week.   This did not come up in the discussion and it is not true.  We have much more than the Bible to assist us in our fight against personal sin.   Much more and you know this to be true!!!!

Well it was in your notes and of course it is true. Quote "James made an important statement previously saying that it is by the power of God operating through the Bible that we experience the new birth (1:18).

1:18 is no more speaking of the "Bible" than it is speaking of flea powder.

Of course it is speaking about the Bible, if you haven't been born again by the engrafted Word which is able to save your soul then you are still in your sin.....Quote "Now he adds that it is also by the Bible that we discover our moral filthiness and are able to turn to God for cleansing.  The Bible is like a mirror. It shows us our true condition.  If we see our condition and do not turn from our sin and begin to practice righteousness, we are fools and our religion is worthless."

If you mean by "Bible" the 66 books contained in the KJV  --  well, the "bible" (per se)  is nowhere spoken of in scripture.

When Jesus or anyone in scripture refers to the Word of God they are referring to the Bible JD.  Why is this so difficult for you to grasp??  Just as a man and his word are one - so is God and His Word.  You can love Baxter Kruger if you want; I love the Word of God, (KJV preferably). But if had had as low a regard for it as you seem to I wouldn't even bother reading it.  PS:  Have you looked in the mirror lately?

Specifically, what do you (all) deny in my description of the Radical Right below?   Was it the comments about the KJV?   Or the rebuking ministry?  Or the location of Hell   (have you ever been to Compton?)   Or your fellowship style regarding the RCC?   Or your secret list of "essentials'   ---   a list we only know about when we cross the line, with you folks?   Tell, where did I go wrong?

To me it is just the ramblings of an extremely mixed up mind    jt

Actually, you missed it, Caroline.  Our good friends on the Right really  believe that the King James Version is inspired.   Yes, that is correct  ........   inspired.      It has to be ----  the KJV being inspired  --- because we have none of the original texts.  None !!   No not one.  !!!   So   ----------------   since God's law must be established in print,  the King James is the "book for me,  " as they are often sing.   After all, it (the KJV version of the O.T.) is actually quoted verbatim, including the italicized wording, in the N.T!!!   That's right.   (You on the Right correct me is I have misstated the position.)   So,  there you have it.  It must be inspired or it wouldn't have been quoted,    God inspired the first writers (Paul and Moses and even unknown writers [Hebrews] ) ,  but we lost all those manuscripts --  so God reestablished them in the English Bible (KJV) to the exclusion of all other languages and translations  (apologies to the various ethnics around the world)  .   It was actually and originally called the Virgin King James Bible but that had it's own problems (no one knew if "virgin" applied to the cross dressing James or to the Bible itself) so they went with the less controversial  "KJV."   He was an "evangelical Christian,"  King James.   Apparently the first.   His non-scholars   (only the ignorant and unwise have anything to do with the Received Text)  did all the necessary work - thank the Lord --  so modern day books and "word studies" really have no place in present day Christian discussion.  Today, the kind and gracious KJ representatives survive, although their numbers continue to dwindle.   They are quite sectarian in their sense of community ( some see this as a contradiction of terms but they don't)   --  i.e., they fellowshiip  Roman Catholic members only if they are in a coma.   They maintain a secret list of "essentials"  and use these "essentials" to determine if others "have the Spirit of enlightenment,"   also known as the "Spirit of God."   Their  preferred method of evangelism is the bullhorn and a thing called "rebuking."   They actually believe that the rebuking of a total stranger carries more weight and influence than the loving and patient touch (n the name of the Lord)  in a process called "discipling  (as in  "Go ye and make disciples ....").
You will find, my dear Caroline,  that their goal in life is save through rebuking  ........God using them to break your evil will and bring true surrender into your life.    White flags offered during a "discussion" with these people have nothing to do with the "surrender" they have in mind.  More than an inspired English version,  this kind and gentle minority believe  their very opinions of biblical matters to be inspired as well   --   to the degree that many of them consider their "interpretation"  (a word straight from the pits of Hell  -- which is located in the middle of the earth, somewhere south of Compton, California.)  to be on a level with the Apostles and Prophets of old.   That's right.   We even have ancient manuscripts written by this dwindling crowd bearing this testimony.

So be careful when you encounter one of these people.   At first, they will appear to be quite normal in appearance    ---------------   until they smile, of course.   They constantly quote scripture and take frequent showers.  The best areas of conversation are those found on opposite sides of a street.  On those rare occasions that find yourself  lonesome and alone,  seek out a well lite street corner,  hold up a sign that reads  "I love Baxter Kruger" (whether you do or not is unimportant)  and wait.   Company is on the way.
