"Baptise" is not a translation of the original word -- it is a transliteration. The English word is "immersion." since Gal 3:27 reads "as many of you as have been baptized (reas : immersed ) into Christ have put on Christ" in the sense that "We were buried with Him by baptism into death" (Rom 6:4) Vs.6 Knowing this that our old man is crucified with him that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

Are we on the same page? Rather than something "done to you" this is something you participate with ..... We are "immersed" into Christ by another. "immersed" (baptizo) in this passage is a passive verb. Prehaps Phil 2: 12-13 have something to do with this. jt
