The most beautiful word of all is you. This is the word of relationship, of looking into another face, of thanking, inviting, asking ("What do you mean?"), forgiving, permitting ("Of course you may"), admiring, encouraging, assigning, begging, giving ("This is for you"), serving, reaching, searching ("Where are you?"), finding ("Oh, there you are!"), blessing. Also the word of accusing, criticizing, and cursing, but even those are not ignoring and turning away but a kind of relating. I love the sound of the word you, both for hearing and for saying! The word you is simultaneously bold and therefore shy, it is firm but at the centre it is soft, it is risky and at the same time comforting. You is the word spoken forever by the Trinity, and the first word the Trinity taught us.
