Furthermore, I think of study of God and religion when I think of the word "theologian." I don't think of every person who rationally discusses God as being a theologian. That would include just about everybody, wouldn't it? Lance wrote: > Excluding myself, doesn't that include all > of the Apostles and all TTers?? Why do you exclude yourself? As for all the apostles, I agree that they all rationally discussed God, but I think most people have a different understanding of the word "theologian." Most of the apostles were not trained and well studied. They simply testified to what they knew. The apostle [not capitalized] Paul was an exception. The Apostles [capitalized to refer to the twelve Apostles of the Lamb] for the most part left us no Scripture probably because they were not theologians in the usual sense of the word. Do you know of anyone calling them "Rabbi"? The theologians of their day took note that they were unlearned men. That's where I get the idea that they were not theologians. Lance wrote: > (I knew the use of the word 'rational' would > 'cause' you to agree with me, David) Actually, that was the word that trips me up a little because I had understood from our past discussions that theologians are not always rational. From these past discussions, I concluded that I was not a true theologian because of my insistence not to depart from logic and rational thought. Peace be with you.
