Interesting, Lance, and thanks. I
just cannot stop reading a book word by word, cover to cover. It’s
my personal hang up I guess. It took me for-everrrrr to finish The Divine
Conspiracy because I was trying to soak it all up. I also MUST highlight
my way through every book that is at all serious. As a treat, on the
drive down to Last week I stopped at the bookstore to
purchase a copy of “The Life of Pi”, as my book club is reviewing
it next week. (I don’t read hardly any of the books they do—just go
for the socializing and food!) Everyone says it is wonderful and they
could NOT put it down, etc., etc. But I did as the article below
recommends and took a minute to preview it in the bookstore. By reading
the cover plus perusing inside I was horrified to realize that the whole story
involves a man and a handful of zoo animals adrift at sea after their ship goes
down, and the animals EAT each other, one by one!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Leaving just the
man and a tiger (or lion, or whatever it was), and he has to figure out how to
keep from being EATEN!!!!!!!!!!!! I DON’T THINK SO! So I
bought “The Kite Runner” instead. Will let you know….
