LOL It's all in the action of the wrist!

Reminds me of the pieces I saw Elsworth Kelly at the grand opening of the Pulitzer modern art gallery.  Each large canvas was a solid color; red on one, yellow on another, etc.  For these Mrs. Pulitzer paid hundreds of thousands of dollars apiece.  I could have done the same with a can of Sherwin-Williams house paint, but then I guess I dont have good taste. No worries Izzy - See the latest on the art and culture circuit:  In todays Virginia Pilot there is a piece about Bonhams Modern and Contemporary Art Sale in London which is a prestigious London auction selling paintings by Congo the chimpanzee (which are expected to fetch between $1,130.00 and $1,500.00) - alongside works by Andy Warhol and Renoir... amazing how far we have come in this Western Civilization.  Stick with the tithe....

Debbie, it may be beyond you to comprehend the situation of the common folks who must choose between expensive art and putting their tithe in the plate when it goes by.  Which would you choose if, God forbid, you had to make that choice? It tells where your true treasures lie.  Izzy

True about the subculture. That's both a cause and an effect of the low quality. They are creating for themselves, an audience that unfortunately has a low standard--not only aesthetically, but in terms of honesty and realism. And also, incidentally, doesn't believe good art is worth paying for.
