Think About It
On that first day, Pentecost Day, the church began a process of community that included the breaking of bread, prayer, the apostles teachings and fellowship (Acts 2:42). If we accept the context of this First Church statement, we are forced to admit that the "apostles doctrine [or teachings]" was about the ascension of Christ as Lord and Savior and, really, nothing else. Understanding that those brought to baptism on that first day of Christian teaching were exclusively Jewish, that in their conversion they saw no need to leave behind the works of the Law, or sacrifices and sin offerings or Temple observances and synagogue attendance ----------- if we understand that the Book of Acts places at our feet a church that was never "right," only saved (made to be right by the workings of another), then and only then can we truly grasp the full course of the incarnation and ascension of the Christ.

Good, bad or ugly - this is going into the local paper next week. In time, we will identify the "Fellowship" -- but for now, just trying to peek some interest. God will do with it what he will.
