Judy, I agree. I do not think it is going to get a lot better, regardless of how much money the world throws at the problem. However, as I am sure you will agree, we should help where we can, and where it will make a difference. Although we certainly cannot end all of the suffering in the world, perhaps we can eliminate it in some cases, ease it in others.

starve because despotic rulers cut off supply chains to starve the people

they will not rise up and overthrow the despots. No amount of money will
fix
