Well what would you do if you were a great warrior who SAT on the sidelines everyday while Goliath Blasphemed God? Especially when God could not find a man so he sent a boy. How does that make the Parade Rest crowd look?
DU 32 And Moses said unto the children of Gad and to the children of Reuben, Shall your brethren go to war, and shall ye sit here? And wherefore discourage ye the heart of the children of Israel from going over into the land which the LORD hath given them?

No, I do not think arrogance is a good thing, but I'm not sure you

1 Samuel 17:28-29
(28) And Eliab his eldest brother heard when he spake unto the men; and
Eliab's anger was kindled against David, and he said, Why camest thou down
hither? and with whom hast thou left those few sheep in the wilderness? I
know thy pride, and the naughtiness of thine heart; for thou art come down
that thou mightest see the battle.
(29) And David said, What have I now done? Is there not a cause?
Peace be with you.
