Lance,

Thanks I believe you are well meaning - but I would just as soon not know all that.  I had forgotten some of the
unpleasantness from that era but this brings it all back and the warm memories I did have of Slade are shattered.
If I remember correctly he had his own issues so it's a bit rich for him to speak of "casting his pearls" before swine.
As moderator Slade was very easily offended and strained at gnats while tolerating filthy language from one TT
member who is now gone along with him.  After accepting a position of authority on TT the manner in which
Slade exited was a terrible example; very ungracious and obviously his peace and love in Jesus did not extend to the listowner who he left in the lurch  with pie on his face so to speak.  Very damaging to his testimony IMO.

Just a few thoughts,
judyt

There are a number of reasons why I left.
  • There are too many absolutists who can only see a single pixel of light in the distance. The idea that opposites can still be correct is absurd.
  • The idea that a group like TruthTalk can be monitored -- or even SHOULD be -- is preposterous. The divisions run too deep (like southern racial scars) and any [monitoring] correction is seen as an attack from "one of them."
  • While there are some on the group that I really enjoyed speaking with, there are those I equally dislike conversing with. We must understand that the attraction to a group like TruthTalk is the animosity, the bickering, and fighting. In short, TruthTalk appeals to the same "old man" we're supposed to conquer. Discussing differences in theology is great fun and I even like it when it turns passionate. However, the passion some on TruthTalk possess is not a passion for Truth... it's a passion to be right... and this is casting pearls for those who seek the Truth. Why should I exercise my enemy? Ask yourself this question, Lance and JD... Who has apologized on TruthTalk? Those who haven't [and should have] should be ignored.

And also with you. I shall ask Caroline, Debbie, Jonathan, Bill and, Slade if they'd be open to the 'interview'. Why'd y'all leave?

Yes, I sure would welcome such.  I suspect most of the answers would involve time constraints.  TruthTalk has too many posts for active people to keep up.  I have suggested in the past that we limit the number of posts per day, but such an idea has not been warmly welcomed by the members here.

Peace be with you.
David Miller.
