Jt refers to 'Einstein (as) the unbeliever'. He was not an
unbeliever. Nobody is an 'unbeliever'.
If Jesus remains a stumbling stone and/or a rock of
offense then he is an unbeliever who is not grafted in to the
tree
Einstein spoke of God but everyone speaks of some
kind of a god.
IFF you are not a dualist then he (Einstein) showed you
nothing. IFF you are then, he did.
Einstein is dealing with a whole
other dimension Lance. The sciences are something that can be observed, they
are natural.
Should we (those on TT who are interested) actually
arrive at a 'unified' (pun intended) understanding of dualism then we shall
see whether or not it (being/not being a dualist) matters.
I personally don't believe this can happen so long as
so many of you are so closed to the spiritual.
I'll 'show my cards' in advance here by saying that IMO
& in general (a qualification from the last time I said something similar
to this) believers will not be moved from the positions they currently hold on
almost anything. Now, as to why this is so, well, that's an important matter
for another day.
You may speak for yourself and yourself only Lance;
some of us are in the process of being delivered from the vain traditions
received from the fathers; it may not happen overnight but it is happening as
we speak. If you had known me 20yrs ago you would agree.
I'm interested in Christines outline but I'm not
sure that it is for the same reasons as you
and Lance. What she has shared already is
actively walking after the Spirit which permeates
every part of our daily lives" which is life to
me.
OTOH your mentor TFT puts forth a whole other
view ie:
"Albert Einstein showed us in the advance of our
science the damaging dualist fallacy which has
affected so much modern thought especially in the
psychological and sociological sciences is
being steadily rejected for a more holistic
approach. Thus a nondualist unitary conception of human
being is being reached supporting the
Jewish-Christian understanding of human being as embodied
soul and ensouled body."
Which isn't even in the same ballpark theology,
psychology and sociology = science?
Albert Einstein the unbeliever showing the
"damaging dualist fallacy"?
Yes, indeed. And, Christine -- do present
your thoughts o n "dualism" and "duality"
(a previous request from Lance).
From: Lance Muir [EMAIL PROTECTED]Would
you be so kind as to share the outline with us. It is of
genuine interest to me. I believe that Bill, Debbie and, John would
also appreciate your observations of this.
