You were responding to Kevin, not Jonathan.  Here are the numbers from that post:

Jonathan highlighted from Kevin's post:
>> The US is the largest overall donor with its $16.3bn in

>> lowest of any G8 member and less than half the 0.35%
>> EU average. Britain stands at 0.34% and Norway is the

As you can see, the number was 16.3bn, which Kevin said left out another 22bn, to which you said the percentages would be about the same, to which I pointed out that they are not the same (16.3bn/GNI versus 38.3bn/GNI).

I'm glad to see that it was simply a misunderstanding on your part.  Don't you get tired arguing about such mundane things?  Let it go.  Jonathan and the authors of that article were playing fast and loose with the numbers to make it imply something that was not true.

Peace be with you.

Here is a fact  ---    Fundies (Evangel Funda's) earned a total of 880 billion last decade!   They spent 8 billion on weight loss and 2 billion in tithing.   You want me to believe they gave 28 b  (or was it 22b ??) to benevolent aide world wide.   What is that percentage  -----   22 b divided by 880 b?

I AM  a political conservative but I have the good sense to know when we are pretending to be gracious in giving and when, in fact, we are just fat, proud and selfish !!!!!

LOL. Where did you learn math?

((16.3 + 22) / GNI) = (38.3/GNI)

John says (38.3/GNI) is just about the same as (16.3/GNI) ????? Do you
really think that 38.3 billion is just about the same as 16.3 billion?

Now let's change GNI to per capita GNI by dividing by the population size to
get the real individual sacrifice. Then you are going to have to argue that
greater sacrifice means more to the poor than greater amount. That's like
arguing that a dollar from a homeless man helps the needy more than a
million dollars from a rich man! Good luck.

Peace be with you.
