Terry, I'm glad to see wisdom is still around :) How's
the wind at your place?
I once thought, "Once saved, always saved". I no longer believe that because I see too many opposing statements in the Bible. I know that no one can pluck you out of His hand, but I am convinced that you can let go of that hand and go your own way. I am probably in the minority by believing this, but the majority is sometimes in error. Terry I agree with you and I also came to this conclusion in
the same way. Early
on I was taught "once saved always saved" and was then
around the
Presbyterians with their Reformed faith both are rooted
in Calvinism and
this is where those ideas come from whether it is pure
or aberrent, they
have that TULIP acronym - several points of which
confuse the simplicity
of the gospel. I don't believe anyone can take us
out of His hand, nor do
I believe we can fall out accidentally if we don't want
to - but we can
certainly slip from our moorings and neglect so great a
salvation. If it were
not so we would not be warned not to do
it.
Blessings,
Judyt
