Kevin, I understand your point of view, but there are a few things I want to
mention.

1. Most posters on TT ( along with the rest of the world) are very sly at
couching thier ad-homs in iffy borderline statements.

2. If I made a practice of trying to call every sly iffy borderline ad-hom,
I would have no time to do anything else. So, I try to just get involved
when it occurs repeatedly, or is so blatant as to appear to be intentionally
hurtful.

3. When these iffy borderline ad-homs occur, I am absolutely certain that
the offender knows exactly what they said, what they meant when they said
it, and often probably expect to get called on it. They may even be relieved
when they are not contacted on it. This in no way justifies the ad-hom, of
course. But some may rationalize that it does.

4. Some, when their ad-hom is pointed out to them, prefer to pridefully
argue that no ad-hom was committed, sometimes using childlike excuses to try
to justify its use, or to deny it's ad-hom nature, or to blame others.

5. I never require an apology of an ad-hom poster...I just point out the
ad-hom. I leave it to the Holy Spirit to convict the humble of their error,
and for them to offer an apology on their own. All ad-homs are pointed out
in private, specifically to give the offender an opportunity to listen to
the Holy Spirit and do what is right. Some do, some don't.

6. So, if you want to whine about every little iffy slyly couched ad-hom
that someone commits, try to make it sound like nothing is being done about
it, and continue to contribute to the problem with your sarcasm, go ahead.
Or, instead you could let the moderator do his work as he best sees fit and
live with it like the rest of us.

This, of course, does not preclude anyone privately emailing me if they
think I have missed something obvious...and sometimes I do.
