DAVEH: I wonder how many partiers would depart N.O. for safety if
Katrina were to hit during Mardi Gras...

Watching FoX News. Katrina is a sad situation. Shepherd Smith, one of the news anchors on that network just
interviewed some (a 100 or so) spending the evening in a local bar,
partying. They are going to stay in the bar(s) and "ride" the storm
out there. Only the 4th level 5 storm to hit the US ever --
coming right in or New Orleans. The rain has begun, 2p.m. pacific
time and they are closing the bridges right this minute.

The book is better than the CD,
I think. Mediation of Christ
In his opening words, Torrance speaks of unconditional
grace, hoping to put the response
of man (repentance) into perspective. Unless I misunderstand this
author, and more importantly, the biblical message, itself, even our
response is suspect. Can we do anything "perfectly" seems to be an oft
discussed issue here on TT.
More to the point, can a man who is viewed by many as unregenerated do
anything perfectly? The preacher demands of this sinner that he
believe, that he confess, that he repent, and that he receive Christ
into his life................and does this preacher expect anything
less than perfect obedience on these issues?
================================================================================
The preacher is a sinner. He has no right to demand or expect
anything. The best that the preacher can do is proclaim the love, and
the demands, of a Holy God.
