Just for the record, here is my repsonse to the article I posted a couple of days ago.

It is interesting to me that you see nothing but "love with sexual overtones" in all of your biblical examples.  You confuse God's bestowed blessings (i.e. the Centurion) with God's approval of all that goes on in one's life, ignoring the impact and importance of unmerited grace and love on the part of God toward his creation.   You seem to equate "disapproval" with something sinister and unChristian.

You seem to think that a girdle of old is the same as Mama' girdle, that a discarded robe reveals nakedness, and the love between men for men and women for women (in the biblical accountings) are statements of sexual preferences.

You speak of scholars as if there are many verses many when the reality of it all denies such comparisons.

Do you have any idea why main stream Christiandom is offended by the gay reality?  Any clue at all?

Have you stood at the curb of a passing gay parade?   Whether straight or gay  -  Christians must be offended at the in-your-face self-centeredness and moral crap that is displayed in such public offerings.

As a gay Christian,  are you not offended by the militant leadership of the gay movement as they associate with man-boy organizations throughout this country?   Are you not dismayed at the fact that only 3 or 4% of practicing gays have a faith in Christ Jesus.

When was the last time you stood on campus and watched Act Up pass our condoms and encourage [protected] sex for 14 year old high school boys and girls or sat in a kindergarten class reading material that offers a 5 year old sexual choices.

Let's allow for "gayness."   What of the activity among male gays that presents one gay with hundreds of partners over a period of years?   Can a Christian gay have hundreds of partners and still claim to be serving the Lord?

What are your boundaries, as a practicing gay?   How do you serve the Lord as a gay individual?   What is the message you offer to other and unsaved gays?   What is the place and importance of moderation as opposed to sexual gluttony?

A brother,

John Smithson
