Being "saved" and being a "Christian" need not be the same. I know quite a number of "Christians" who serve self and their own intuitions. JudyT's theology is no closer to biblical "truth" than many she deems to be heretical. Harsh and judgmental attitudes mark one as NOT being of the Spirit. I will leave you to answer your own question. DH knows that I do not believe in Mormonism, but I reject judgmentalism and certain anti-God heresies pr
eached on TT by those who claim to be mainstream. We do not know of any specific individual's destiny. DH claims the name of Christ and argues that he, too, is a Christian. If I challenge him on doctrinal grounds, there is no one left (humbly I speak) BUT ME. I do believe that the judgment for Joe Smith will not be as happy a one as for his followers. But I still do not know of his eternal destiny.

cd:I can agree with some of what you are conveying- but if being a Christian is different from salvation then this is an illusion created by the world and would more properly belong under the term "hypocrite" or "fool". I can not come to any decisions concerning Judy as I have not spoken with her in over a year-but if memory serves me correctly I made the same judgement call as you have last year.In that time I have learned that there are young Christians who have much to learn but prevented by pride; older Christians who have been mis-taught and fools who believe God's word but won't adhere to that word.
I also can agree with your conclusions on "harsh and judgmental attitudes" if they are incorrect on accessing a person or done without patience. They can be done towards an evil person. There is a time for strong rebuke and a time for kind rebuke (done in love)-Hopefully the spirit will lead us when to make that decision.
As concerning J.Smith-A man repenting doesn't die while killing others. Lost men who are afraid to die act in this manner-History teaches that John the Baptist ( a true prophet) ran to place his head on the chopping block because of his faith in a better resurrection. J Smith died killing two men and wounding a third to the Mormon's pride. Did you know that once in hell a person will have a hatred for God and his fellow sinners-while continually being punished for those sins also. Horrible place to be. Let us treat each other with respect while we can-I have found that this site can bring out the worst in a person-or the best.

DAVEH: Surely you aren't suggesting that I am wrong,
Brother Jonathan! If I am wrong, who shall we uphold as right on
TT?
