Specifically, DAvid,  what did I say in my post that led you to go ad hom.   Specifically.

You need to go back and look at what you said about punctuation and then, maybe, you will understand my response.   All punctuation is added to make the text work in our language.   Why you want to argue the point is beyond me.   Lessons in Greek from you?   A man has got to know his limitations, David.  You don't.

"Stupid"  ???  Ad hom is obviously not below you.   That sentence in this post has no place in intelligent discussion.   Your insults are boring and that is about it.

Let's go with "dishonest."   What is "dishonest"  about what I said in my post  --  be specific.

You already said this in your original post, John. No, there is no need for
me to rethink my response. You just do not seem to understand, that if
there is no punctuation in the Greek, and you add punctuation to make the
text say something other than how it reads in the Greek (btw, Greek has
endings of words which act in ways that punctuation does for English), then
you have NOT quoted the text verbatim. In other words, it is NOT "an exact
quotation -- at least as much so as a translation can be." Either you do
not understand Greek and translating Greek as well as you have represented
yourself, or you are being dishonest, or you are just plain stupid. Since
we don't allow ad hominem remarks here, I'm not taking a position on this,
but you really should rethink your response (IMHO).

Peace be with you.
David Miller.
