But you don't know of his ministry JD and are in no
position to evaluate. He is in FL and you are in CA
if I am not mistaken so your concern is misplaced. I am
sure God has ppl right there in FL to keep him in line.
Also I don't detect any harshness in what DavidM says -
to the contrary when others (though well meaning) have
been harsh toward me I have
found him to be willing to listen to both sides and to do his best to understand
with
the aim of trying to keep the peace. How
does one find an evil motive in that??
PS: Though it may be
news to you JD - I am "out there" also. I attend Church, I visit the
marketplace, I have friends,
I have family, and I talk with people. If you think "leadership" is the only avenue of
ministry open you are wrong.

You miss the point of "Christine." I have just read your third post of the day ---- absolutely nothing substantive. Mine???? Not entirely. The post below is written out of concern for David. In it I single out the one thing (IMO) that presents him in a poor light to others. Now, to those who love harshness, the point will be missed. But I am hoping that DAvid will see the point. He doesn't just sit around and write, as do you - but he is out there, doing what he believes is God's will. He has a degree of leadership in his church and probably gets along with others in that situation just fine. But there is room for improvement that would greatly enhance his ministry.JDFrom: Judy Taylor <jandgtaylor1@juno.com>
More of the same JD; when will you wise up?Lies, lies, and more lies. You read tactics into everything - I've been on lists where there is control and believe methis is not one of them. There is only one in all creation who deserves acclaim and it is not DavidM - I believe heknows this. You even suspect Christine of lying by intimating that she's not actually lurking, that this is just moreof David. Where does it end?. David himself has said he doesn't have time for a lot of list activity when he isbusy with his work - could Christine possibly be reporting the gossip that goes on about him constantly by afew publicly on this list? As he said "you know who you are"I suggest you spend some time meditating on Psalm 119:165 preferably in KJV for your own good. jtOn Sat, 15 Oct 2005 01:54:51 -0400 [EMAIL PROTECTED] writes:You are one arrogant son of a gun. You drag every debatable conversation into the personal. Without exception, David. in time, this is your only tactic, in fact. You don't like being questioned because it challenges your sense of control. You want others to consider you to be HIGHLY educated as well as SPIRITUALLY superior (you being the only on this list who has not misused scripture -- according to , ah, you). It is important to you. I think you said, at one time, that you have a BS in science and are self-educated in other areas of concern -- such as Greek. All this is not only fine - you could command the acclaim you deserve if you could, somehow, refrain from making every single debate a opportunity for personal insults and the like.& nbsp; The "gossip" you complained about, David (and how do we know that you did not just make up that charge? I mean, who would have told you?) --- one of the things that gets mentioned is how much potential you have intellectually. You have even impressed those who are not your friends. Your big failing has to do with these insults. ..... on every occasion. We are not the only ones you have trouble with ................. and you and I know this to be true. Can you deal with this problem. It would, in deed, change your life for the better. But, whatever. JD

You responded to this post last night. In fact, this post was included in more than one thread to which you responded last night. Sometimes I get the feeling that you are not reading my posts very carefully. JD wrote: > I did not say anything about the bible not containing > truth. I fail to understand the distinction you see in the meaning of these words in regards to the context in which I used them. If you want to write it the other way, go ahead. My point still stands. It changes nothing in regards to what I said. As for addressing your examples from the Bible, I don't see any from you in the thread below, so I have no idea what you are talking about. Peace be with you. I missed this post, David, so I will reply in addition to Lance. I did not say anything about the bible not containing truth. You did that when you changed the wording (and , hence, the meaning, of what I wrote) from "contains the Word of God" to "contains truth." I personally believe that you practice this sort of thing intentionally and when you really have no argument for what was actually written. You do this sort of thing often. I'm glad you clarified this. I thought maybe you had 1 John 5:8 in mind, but deep down, I think I knew better. :-) If you study the Scriptures a little closer, you will find that what you attribute to man is actually attributed to the Holy Ghost. For example, consider Heb. 3:7, which quotes a psalm, something which you apparently attribute to man, but the author of Hebrews attributes to the Holy Ghost. When I hear the statement that the Bible contains truth, there is an implication that some of it does not contain truth. The problem with this is that it suggests the Bible is only trustworthy when one weeds through the parts that is true and separates it from what is false (kind of like the Thomas Jefferson approach to the Bible). When I hear the statement that the Bible is truth, this has the implication that there is no falsehood in the Bible (in other words, the Bible in its entirety is trustworthy). Of course it did. You Judy and Linda simply don't read. I said there were at least three sources of information in the biblical record. God "thus said the Lord" (verses abound); Satan "thou shalt not surely die" (you have no idea where this is found IN SCRITPURE ????) and man ( many of the psalms.) You, in return, offered nothing ----- once again ----- that speaks to the issue. And you can't. Since the "scholars contains truth" crowd won't provide proof tetxts, here they are: JN 17 :17 thy word is ((contains)) Truth Hi Iz, I presume that when you wrote the following (that about which Judy responds, "what Izzy says stands ..."), you were asking a rhetorical question -- the answer being, Of course not: "Can you separate God and His ... written Word?" I would like to challenge you to reconsider. If there is no difference, i.e., no separation, between God and his written word, then go ahead and pray to your Bible, for they are one in the same. You (not you personally, but your cohorts) criticized John for suggesting that the Bible contains the Word of God, demanding proof texts; yet you yourself write that it is "the Truth contained within" the Bible which is holy, and that Jesus' word speaks to you from those pages, if you have ears to hear. Would you mind explaining to me how this is different from that which set you (pl) off concerning John's statement? Christians know better than to think it's okay to pray to their Bibles, yet with their own words, they sometimes exalt the Bible to a status due only to God. The two are not the same: that is what Lance is saying, and that is what John is saying, and, if I correctly apprehend your latest comment, that is what you are saying -- Judy's kudos noted.
