Great harm has been done through the assimilation of
this teaching (Mt 24 & 1 Thess) into the lives of unwitting christians
and unwitting non-christians. It reflects ultra-poor hermeneutics. But then,
there's nothing new in that.
cd: I fail to find the harm in this teaching
on the contrary-To expect ones lord at any moment would lead to caution of
one acts/thoughts. This statement of course allows for the rapture to be
imminent and goes against the Rev 19 view I hold and is agreement with most
of the Protestant world pre-trib. rapture and most likely
correct.
The above teaching reflects one more area where no
amount of diplomatic engagement would bring about one centimeter of
theological movement. Therefore, I shan't engage on this. Ya won't be cast
into 'outer darkness' for believing it, Dean.
cd: Time will tell-but the Bible say it
will happen and it has never been wrong yet (as long as it is interpreted
correctly).
