I don't believe God necessarily needs to supersede the laws of the
land in order to accomplish his goals. In the case where there is no
other option, then I suppose he can cause it to rain for 40 days, or
erupt a volcano or move a mountain....or do whatever he wants to
influence men to change their ways to benefit the Lord's plan. However,
I assume he has some other less harsh options, as LDS theology now
teaches that other things are more pertinent at this time. When the
Lord feels polygamy is needed again, then he will institute it as he
wishes. Whether that is in this life or the next.....the Lord only knows.

Having said that, I should mention that we (LDS) have a different
definition for that than you, so I would not think many (if any at
all) TTers will comprehend my answer. So, when I state that /I am
damned/, that is a state in which one's eternal progression is limited.
