(3) the law of the priest hood was also removed ...
On the right track here, Dean, but I think there is a better way of
understanding this and articulating it.
The entire Torah is contained in the commandment to Love God and to Love our
neighbor. I would ask you to consider that neither the sacrificial system,
nor the dietary system, nor the priesthood, has been removed by the covenant
of Christ. Rather, the Torah is spiritual and should be understood
spiritually. The material obedience to these commandments are only shadows
of a greater reality. Sacrifices continue, eating kosher continues, and the
priesthood continues... none of these have been removed.
Consider the following passages which speak of priesthood, sacrifice, and
kosher eating practiced by Gentiles under the New Covenant:
1 Peter 2:5
(5) Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy
priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus
Christ.
Romans 12:1-2
(1) I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye
present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is
your reasonable service.
(2) And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the
renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable,
and perfect, will of God.
1 Corinthians 5:7-8
(7) Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are
unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:
(8) Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the
leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity
and truth.
Ephesians 5:2
(2) And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself
for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.
Philippians 4:18
(18) But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received of Epaphroditus
the things which were sent from you, an odour of a sweet smell, a sacrifice
acceptable, wellpleasing to God.
Hebrews 7:26-28
(26) For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled,
separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;
(27) Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice,
first for his own sins, and then for the people's: for this he did once,
when he offered up himself.
(28) For the law maketh men high priests which have infirmity; but the word
of the oath, which was since the law, maketh the Son, who is consecrated for
evermore.
Hebrews 9:22-26
(22) And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without
shedding of blood is no remission.
(23) It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens
should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with
better sacrifices than these.
(24) For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which
are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the
presence of God for us:
(25) Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth
into the holy place every year with blood of others;
(26) For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world:
but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the
sacrifice of himself.
Hebrews 13:15-16
(15) By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God
continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.
(16) But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices
God is well pleased.
Revelation 2:20
(20) Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou
sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach
and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things
sacrificed unto idols.
2 John 1:10-11
(10) If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him
not into your house, neither bid him God speed:
(11) For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.
1 Timothy 5:22-25
(22) Lay hands suddenly on no man, neither be partaker of other men's sins:
keep thyself pure.
(23) Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach's sake and
thine often infirmities.
(24) Some men's sins are open beforehand, going before to judgment; and some
men they follow after.
(25) Likewise also the good works of some are manifest beforehand; and they
that are otherwise cannot be hid.
Ephesians 5:6-7
(6) Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things
cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.
(7) Be not ye therefore partakers with them.
1 Corinthians 10:20-21
(20) But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice
to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship
with devils.
(21) Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot
be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils.
Sorry for the long post. There are a lot more passages, but I had better
stop now. :-) I think you can get the gist of what I'm saying.
I've said this in the past on this forum, but I will say it again. The
Epistle of Barnabas, which was in one of the oldest Bibles that we have,
explains how Torah should rightly be understood. I encourage all interested
in this topic to read it and consider his thesis.

Peace be with you.
