Terry, you have always been free to show mercy and pray for the evil, in the OT as well at the NT.  Does that mean that if someone commits a heinous crime against you or your family that you will not insist on them being arrested, tried, and sent to prison? I think not.  You can walk in love and mercy, praying for them and refraining from hatred, while at the same time allowing them to be brought to justice by the government.  Personal retribution and state-enforced punishment are two different things.  That is why I point out the difference between the OT governmental type laws and some of the laws regarding personal integrity/morality, such as don’t steal, etc.  izzy

I think that we are pretty much in agreement, Dean, except for the part about needing a Jewish Catholic priest.  I would imagine that they are hard to find. :)   Gentiles were never under the law, but the two commandments given by Jesus cover all the law except the ceremonial parts.  Christians have the additional responsibility to love, not only our brother, but our enemy.  Our freedom is not freedom to sin.. It is freedom to be a priest without being a Levite.  Freedom to worship anywhere, 24/7.  Freedom to show mercy , to pray for a sexual pervert or rebellious child or adulterous spouse instead of throwing rocks at them.
