I want to let you all know why I have been not posting lately and why I am not likely to be posting too much on generic issues for awhile. Two reasons: 1. The Lord has put it upon my heart to set my face against the University of Florida's policy promoting sexual immorality, which is taking up time. 2. My hard drive on my primary computer crashed last Wednesday and it still is not up and running. I wish I had time to explain in more detail right now what it is that is happening at the University of Florida that is causing me to crusade over there. Suffice it to say for now that last year they created a department within the Dean of Students called LGBT Affairs (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgendered Affairs). I have been talking to administration officials with little success. I began preaching on campus concerning this specific issue last Thursday, Nov. 10th. I have preached at UF many times without incident, but now I am hammering this one issue. Last Thursday the police ordered me to leave campus. I instructed the police officer that he was in error, making a mistake, violating my civil rights, and that I did not have to leave campus. He put me in handcuffs and put me in the back of a police car for about 30 minutes before a police sergeant agreed with me and released me. I believe that it is going to take national attention on this issue for anything to change. This department of sodomy was created by the university President himself, Bernie Machen. If any of you have time to write the school paper, or to raise the issue in your own community, either by writing the newspaper or talking about it on talk radio, I would appreciate you considering doing so. I have a meeting scheduled with the Dean of Students on Friday the 18th at 3:30 pm. I plan to preach again before this meeting. I will be writing the Board of Trustees of the University soon and will share that with you. I will be setting up an email list with students and faculty who share concern about this issue. I will let you know about this as well. Pray about writing the Board of Trustees. They live all over the country and any pressure they can get from outside about this situation will help.
