Moreover, John, if God is love and God is also a singularity, like many people think of "one" in the statement "God is one," then the greatest human _expression_ of that love would be narcissism: extreme self love; for that would be to exemplify the love of God. Instead, God is "one" -- and has been from eternity -- precisely because of the other-centered love which exists between the Father for the Son and the Son for the Father in the Holy Spirit. The oneness of God is therefore not a number nearly so much as it is a unity: the unifyinglove of God in koinonia -- Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.Good insight, Dude, I mean Bish; you're on a roll.Bill----- Original Message -----From: [EMAIL PROTECTED]Sent: Thursday, January 12, 2006 8:00 AMSubject: Re: [TruthTalk] love and trinityAnother thought about "trinity"
We have the statement that "God is love." If love only has meaning when shared - somthing I beleive -- such becomes an evidence for the communal nature of God. If God is love, He was such before anything existed except Himself. If God is community (Father, Son, H Spirit) then "love" is a proper description of the pre-creation God of all created things.
He does not need us to be completed by His creation. Anything and all things associated with communal interaction is part of a trinitarian God. Redemption and love have their full _expression_ within the very nature of God. Man is created from that essence and God, the community that we know as God, has always functioned with love.
Neither creation nor history prove or validate God.

I may be out of commission for the next day or two. A little visit to the hospital. Stint time if you know what I mean.
